1. Insert the drill bit into the jig. When you are ready to sharpen a drill bit, slide it into your drill bit jig so that the end of the drill bit hangs over the edge slightly. Make sure that the drill bit fits snugly in the slot. It should fit right into the central groove in your jig. Then, place the tip of the drill bit near the grinding wheel.
The jig also has a depth stop, which speeds up the sharpening process and makes the jig safer. The last step is to calibrate the blade rotation stop. I made it with hard wood and a metal shelf support pin. Thanks to this set-up, the grinding disk will grind down all the teeth evenly, improving the sharpening process.
