SOLOMON ISLANDS COCONUT VALUE CHAIN ANALYSIS
Solomon Island Production: Since 1997 annual copra production has mostly been in the range of 25,000-35,000 tons but fell to almost zero in 2001-2002 due to the combined effect of civil unrest, the end of CEMA's monopoly and insolvency of CEMA's oil milling businesses. Production of copra in the Solomon Islands is price inelastic.
